Ever wanted to build your own robot, but don’t know how to get started? HackPittsburgh member Ed Paradis will fill you in on what you need to start that army of death robots you’ve been meaning to subjugate the planet with.
From motors to microcontrollers to sensors, you’ll get a crash course that will take you from zero to robot in less than an hour.
If you’re thinking of buying an Arduino but haven’t concocted a good excuse, this talk is for you. If you’re looking to get started in electronics or tangible computing, this is also for you. If you’ve made an LED blink but you’d really like to figure out how to drive a motor, this talk is for you. If you’re flying around on a giant dragon made of pure energy in a battle against moon lizards from space… this talk might not be for you.
After the presentation, a small robot petting zoo will be provided.
This event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 7pm and the presentation will start shortly after.
