  • Thursday August 7th - Last Lock Pick Club meeting, unless we get another sponsor
  • Friday August 15th - Analog Game Night!
    • Some digital games were played in addition to various analog games.
    • Digital Circuits are made from analog parts.

Upcoming Events

  • Friday August 22nd - Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream - Chad
    • Bring Milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, chocolate, or other flavors of your choice!
    • We will also smash and break some things.
  • Saturday, August 23rd - Event at the Carnegie Science Center.
    • Please come down and help to show off at the event.
  • Thursday August 28th - Intro to OOP - by Greg
  • Friday, September 5th - Joey, Jim? Open Source Brewing: Part I
  • Friday, September 12th - Artemis Night!!!!

  • GPS class
    • Progress. This will be the next class.
  • Arduino Track... Next up:
    • We should probably reset here. We should schedule a new Intro to soldering class for fall.

Shop Projects / Updates

  • Window Lights project
    • Gene got a RaspberryPi B+ added. He needs to be shown how to program the Arduino via Pi.
  • Tool Power E-Stop
    • Work is still on ongoing.
  • Power wheels NYC 9/20-9/21 2014!!!!!
    • What needs done for NYC?
      • Tires, made a first attempt. Too small. Need another set.
      • Get a set of Kendas, and another set to test. We need another set of rims as well.
      • Wiring harness batteries
      • Steering
      • HoverBoard
      • Co2
      • Headlights, Brake-lights. Gene acquired LED sets for the lights.
      • Mount camera to car
    • Do we want to go to Fort Wayne? 9/13-9/14
      • WIll be busy prepping for New York
    • Do we want to go to Milwaukee? 9/27-9/28
      • Logistics may be difficult
  • CNC Router
    • Need to get some wiring done

Old Business

  • Laser Cutter (AKA Frickin Lasers!)
    • Should be available for pick up some time between 8/25 and 8/29...
      • Chad is Flying there, Renting a truck and Driving back.
  • Carnegie Library demo 8/23.
    • Decided to talk about various aspects of Power Wheels Detroit!
    • We need an activity as well.
      • Liquid Nitrogen Demo
  • Shop Work
    • Decided to throw away couch. Need space.
    • Discussed painting walkways that need to be left clear. if something is left in the walkway, it will be thrown away.
    • Need to install new legs for the tables
    • Talked about getting 50 matching chairs for larger events
      • Stackable for consolidation.
    • Decided to remove the stove.
  • Nerd Exchange PodCast Event
    • Waiting on a physical date.

New Business

  • HackPGH is 5 Years Old!!
    • Party!
    • After Laser Cutter Comes in!
  • Mounted LCD to wall for showing videos, news, projects, etc
  • Ordered new RFID Reader for door. If you are interested in helping, contact Anthony

What can we do to make the shop better?

  • Less expensive lighting
  • Fix Lighting
  • Send email to group soliciting input on events
  • Send out a reminder about members meeting and point out that this is a good time to catch up with other projects
