Unscheduled Classes

  • Welding class for members
    • We now have a working welder. Gabe will find a time to schedule. Possibly a Saturday evening. Can handle 7-8 students. A few bucks for class materials and pizza.
  • Ham radio test (late March/April)
    • Class November 1st and 2nd: Gene/Jeff to host prep class for taking ham cert.
    • November 3rd hamfest at Washington County Faire Grounds
    • Geno will find out when Pitt Radio is having test, we will schedule cram for right before
  • Intro to processing (scheduled)
  • Arduino Track:
    • Learn to Solder
    • Intro Programming/Dyiode Shield
    • Sensors, sensors, sensors!
    • Intro to Motor Control
    • Advanced Motor Control
  • Adam wants to teach a Wifi class
    • A track of something like 4 classes to demystify Wifi

Project/Shop Updates

  • Power Bill
    • Current Bill? 105 (At least it's consistent)
  • Window Lights project - lights in the windows!
    • Gene is working on syncing the prototyping board with the outside display
  • 3D Printer
    • Is printing somewhat consistently, still not ready for public use, but see Eli, Chad, Jeremy or Anthony if you want to request to have something printed
    • Currently qualified MMax users:

    • Workstation Added for 3-D Printer
    • Soon we will be doing training on the 3-D Printer.
    • Pay System
      • We will be using a Gram Scale for now.
      • Will work on pricing. (We need buy more filament)
  • Server Rack / network
    • Still need to figure out billing. Killawatt... Who is going to do this? (this needs to happen!)
  • Security cameras - Chad is in contact with Mike Wally in attempt to resolve the issues.
  • Powerwheels
    • This weekend!
    • New motor has been installed. 2.5HP motor.
    • Rear differential.
    • New front LED headlights.
    • Q-Gadgets are working well.
    • Telemetry data is reported via XBees to PC.
    • Added hood pins.
  • Mugs - Gabe is the point of contact
    • Will make a two dozen mugs to start with
    • Mugs have arrived as of 9/18/2013
    • $15 each, $20 for mug personalized with text at bottom
  • CNC Router
  • Setup e-stop for tools (on hold until after New York Maker Faire)
  • Gabe and Chad to work on RFID control for tool area (on hold until after New York Maker Faire)
  • Misc Unused Tools In Shop
    • Gabe selling mini-band saw and mini-lathe, Punch tool and other misc.
      • Mini Lathe is gone!

        • Choose a date. Need to get advanced word out.

  • Geno is making signal generator for shop. Successfully generated a sinusoidal signal.

  • Will implement some "random stuff" dispositioning systems

    • Didn't get it. They decided not to sell
  • New Internet Coming soon!

New Business

  • Sparkfun was here September 15th. Gave out free swag.
  • First Friday @ Assemble http://assemblepgh.org/
    • The first Friday of every month, they host an event and showcase projects. Kid orientated event.
    • October in 2 weeks.
